Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-bout match which will be broadcast live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the combatants came face-to-face to promote next month's heavyweight fight.
Former two time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Fighter's Mentality
"I will damage his features and break his body up. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35, stated.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I intend to genuinely try to injure him. That's my intention."
Respectful Exchange
In spite of those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually famous for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul instead attacked ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a bout proposal.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized UK opponent Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he stated.
Jake Paul's Background
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.
He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
However, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's largest money-making draws, consistently making massive paydays.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in rounds four or five and asserted he would derail the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently under discussion for two years from now.
"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.
Size Disparity
As the two fighters met for the traditional stare-down, with their physical disparity evident, it drove home just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the fight is actually going ahead.
